Workshops with Sarah Kinsella

Sarah appreciates that not everyone is as fit as they would like to be or wants to hike long distances and climb hills and, therefore, organises her workshops so that walking is kept to a minimum and is on paths. Many people want their photography workshops to be social occasions where they are taken to beautiful locations in the company of like-minded people. Sarah does not impose her agenda upon people but asks what you want to achieve and provides as much guidance as required without using technical jargon. Catering primarily for the beginner or those at an intermediate level, either on a one-to-one basis or a small group limited to a maximum of three participants, these workshops will be based around carefully researched locations in Cheshire and North Wales.

Workshops can be organised on either a weekday or weekend. Remember it is your day and I am here to help so please ask. My aim is to make the day an enjoyable learning experience whilst giving you the basis to produce your own successful landscape images.

What will you learn:

• Getting away from Automatic Mode - understanding Manual, Aperture and Shutter Priority settings
• Composition – the rules and how to break them
• Focus
• Exposure and Metering
• Histogram and Live View
• Choice of Focal length
• Filters
• Abstracts
• Wide Angle Vistas and Panoramas

What to Bring?

• Your own digital SLR camera / lenses and manual in a waterproof camera bag.
• Your own tripod if you have one (not essential as you can borrow one).
• Full charged spare batteries.
• Remote control (if you have one).
• Spare CF cards or alternative suitable for your camera.
• Warm and weatherproof clothing and boots as the weather can be changeable.
• Sun cream, sun hat and midge repellent (if appropriate).

Cost of the day workshop is £150 and this includes drinks and snacks. I will consider group day workshops though I am limited to three participants, please contact me if you would like to arrange a group workshop at a cost of £300 per day.

Workshop sessions can make a welcome gift for the keen photographer. If you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary and think that this might fit the bill, we can provide a Workshop Voucher for you, printed with the recipient's name, along with a blank greetings card from our range, to enable you to dedicate your gift.
